Initial Radon Mitigation Class
This comprehensive three-day, live virtual training provides the required initial education for individuals seeking certification as a Radon Mitigation Professional/Specialist. The course covers essential radon mitigation concepts, including diagnostic testing, mitigation methods and system design, pressure field extension, fan sizing and selection, system components and installation, safety considerations, applicable standards, and professional responsibilities.
Taught by experienced radon professionals, the course combines required technical knowledge with real-world experience and practical field applications, helping participants understand how mitigation concepts, standards, and requirements apply to everyday work in the field.
Credentials and Recognition
Participants who successfully complete all class requirements will receive a certificate of completion that fulfills the initial education prerequisite for the NRPP and NRSB Radon Mitigation Professional/Specialist certification exams. Certification exams are not included and must be registered for and completed separately through NRPP or NRSB.
Class Objectives: By the end of this class, participants will be able to:
- Explain essential radon mitigation concepts and diagnostic testing methods
- Design radon mitigation systems, including pressure field extension considerations
- Select and size fans appropriate to system design
- Identify system components and apply proper installation techniques
