He has inspected more than 4\,500 residential and commercial buildings over the course of his 40-year career. In 1997\, he cofounded Carson Dunlop Weldon & Associates Ltd (CDW). While working for Carson Dunlop\, he reported on major components such as structure\, building envelope\, and mechanical systems. Richard currently devotes his time to assessing commercial properties\, writing numerous articles on home inspection for publication\, and teaching with The ASHI School.
