ASHI Advantage Insurance Program

ASHI has partnered exclusively with InspectorPro Insurance to provide members with quality errors and omissions and general liability insurance offerings at a discounted rate.

Better Coverage for Less Cash

InspectorPro with the ASHI Advantage makes it more affordable for members to protect their home inspection business with errors and omissions and general liability insurance.

Members who have been inspecting for a year or more are eligible for the ASHI discount, which rewards ASHI members for their commitment to the association with a premium credit.

ASHI Executive Director James Thomas believes these savings will help participating members grow their inspection companies.

“The ASHI Advantage gives our members an opportunity to be able to get discounts that will help them,” Thomas said. “They can use those savings in other investments in their business.”

Alternatively, members who are just starting their businesses are eligible for the new inspector discount, which gives members $250 off their first year of coverage.

Save Money

When members purchase $10,000 in equipment coverage (inland marine) with the ASHI Advantage, InspectorPro automatically will double their limits of liability to $20,000 at no extra charge. That means members can protect more of their tools and equipment without paying any additional premium.

Get Peace of Mind for Retirement

Don’t choose between a vacation and coverage. With the ASHI Advantage, members are eligible for five years of “tail” coverage (also known as an extended reporting period endorsement) for free when they meet the following criteria:

  1. A member insures with InspectorPro for three or more consecutive policy periods (36 months).
  2. A member is age 55 or older.
  3. A member opts-in in writing no later than 60 days after their policy’s expiration or cancellation.
  4. A member is not subject to any disciplinary proceedings regarding their inspection services.

This benefit also applies if a member become disabled or passes away.

To review the policy’s terms and conditions, ask an InspectorPro broker for a copy of the coverage form.

Stifle Complaints Before They Become Claims

By providing free pre-claims assistance, the ASHI Advantage protects member before they even receive a claim.

Pre-claims assistance is exactly what it sounds like — it’s free help responding to unhappy clients in a way that may prevent said clients from making written demands for money (or claims). Anyone with the ASHI Advantage is eligible for help at no extra cost and no impact to their insurance rate.

In the open market, help with pre-claims can cost an extra $500 a year or more. And often, that outside help doesn’t give members the same benefits. In fact, addressing a client’s complaint with a third party can violate an insurance policy’s reporting requirement, which is why it’s always best to work with the insurance provider.

About InspectorPro

In 2009, InspectorPro saw a need in the insurance industry. Across the nation, there were tens of thousands of home inspectors protecting the millions buying and selling homes every year. As they do today, these inspectors were catching dangerous defects to safeguard American families. They were crawling under homes, traversing roofs and testing appliances to enable their clients to make educated buying and selling decisions. But who was looking out for them?

In the past, there were not many insurance companies that offered programs catered to the home inspection industry. There were plenty of agencies that offered cookie-cutter professional and general liability insurance policies, but they didn’t understand the risks unique to the inspection industry.

That need for a custom insurance solution for home inspectors is how InspectorPro was born. InspectorPro strives to offer solutions that meet home inspectors’ specific needs.

Today, InspectorPro Insurance is one of the leading home inspection insurance providers in the nation. With a reputation built on superior claims handling and quality customer service, InspectorPro gives clients peace of mind. Their risk management tools work to change the litigious culture plaguing home inspection businesses by helping inspectors avoid claims and educate clients. And their errors and omissions and general liability insurance policies are built to serve members’ unique business needs. Insuring with anyone else simply isn’t worth the risk.
